Dyson Offers Thoughts On Upcoming 2025 Season

At the January Trans Am by Pirelli open test session at Sebring International Raceway, a Trans Am staff member asked Chris Dyson to share his thoughts regarding the upcoming season, which begins at Sebring February 20-23, and his quest for a fourth championship title after narrowly missing that goal in 2024:

Q. What do you think it’s going to take to win the championship in 2025?

“I think we’ve just got to score every single weekend. Just go for race wins, be consistent in qualifying, manage the tires, and just execute. I think we were competitive every single weekend last year; super-fast race car. Just some bad racing luck last year. I don’t think we do a lot different this year other than just continue to improve. Obviously, we had a hard fight the whole year. I expect that to continue.”

Q. Has your approach to this season changed versus last year and the years previous?

“No, I don’t think so. I think you’re just more relaxed. I think right now we’ve proven that the Riley is a very, very good car. We’ve kind of gotten rid of a lot of the question marks we had over the reliability and some of the issues, and we’ve just been refining it, really. If you look at the second half of last year to the end of the season, I think we had a superb run. It didn’t show necessarily in the final results, but you just don’t panic. We know we’ve been here before. Our team knows how to win. I know how to win. You’ve just got to have that confidence in yourself.”

Q. What are you most looking forward to this year?

“Getting started!”
